The fund drives to find a "Diabetes Cure" for 68 years has not only not found a cure, they have not even figured out how to keep the number of people with diabetes doubling in less then ten years.
They have spent billions on obesity and the percentage of the population obese has doubled in the last ten years.
This is because Diabetes and Obesity are mere symptoms, like coughing, lung cancer, heart attacks, and emphysema are mere symptoms of smoking.
They did rake in billions in fund drives over the 68 years on the false pretense that you can find a cure for these symptoms...and they are still doing it....join the next Diabetes walk fund drive, join our diet lose weight group, help them out.
It took 75 years before the public wised up to the fact that smoking kills you early
The medical people for 75 years endorsed smoking and appeared in smoking ads, and said no one really can say for sure smoking is a cause and no one knows for sure what causes lung cancer etc.
Now the leading experts tell you that "no one knows for sure what causes diabetes, or obesity," but we are "just around the corner" from finding a chemical that will "fix" it, so give us some more money and we will solve this.
No different then finding a chemical
(prescription drug they can sell you) to cure smoking body damage.
Their prescription cure right now supposedly rescues you from diabetes, they tell you right off with your diabetes diagnosis the statistics are that you will die 15 years early despite, (more likely because of) of their treatments.
The truth is it has been known from studies in the thirties what causes diabetes and obesity.
The cure is the same as health destruction from smoking, stop doing what they long ago figured out causes the problem.
