Two kinds, to pick from, whole natural foods and processed foods. Mans problems in general health concerns stem from processed foods, and unbeknown to most, the modified "natural" foods that you are not aware are no longer 100% natural.

Here I want to convert you out of processed food almost entirely and alert you (education) to the degradation of so called natural food that is not up to what you think you are getting.

Processed Foods are basically natural foods they have jazzed up, packaged it up and added to so it can sit on the shelf for a long time and not rot.

....and packaged
Generally speaking, processed foods are produced using manufacturing methods to transform raw ingredients into neatly packaged goods, which have a longer shelf life. Some of the artificial ingredients used include monosodium glutamate (MSG), They add chemical flavorings, chemical preservatives, sugar, high fructose corn syrup (man made type of sugar) hydrogenated oil, (oil that has been chemically processed to keep it from turning rancid early,) other fillers, and artificial sweeteners, often have cooked it to death to kill the bacteria to make it rot proof. To make it taste really good, add a chemical MSG that fools your taste system, into thinking it is delicious. This popped out of the several layers of plastic, and cardboard, or a can or foil package is almost ready to eat with little or no effort on your part.

These are "high margin" foods and are located by the grocers to where the most traffic is, (and will sell more) on the shelves of the inside middle aisles where the high foot traffic is.

The biggest mark up foods for the grocer are sodas, candy, cereals, and crackers. *processed foods) so that they get the best most trafficked spots.

Natural grown foods have a short shelf life, and are often picked green and ripen enroute and in the store. (thus miss the enzymes you get with food picked ripe)

(Example, garlic is mostly imported from China, to keep it from sprouting, it is irradiated, which also kills some of the natural ingredients.
American raised garlic is often refrigerated to keep it from sprouting which also negates some of the benefits. Therefore, finding garlic in its natural full benefit state is not easy. This indicates that all is not as it appears and you need to become educated on the food handling system.

These natural state fruits and vegetables found in stores are still flavorful, have vibrant colors, and rich textures, some are now sprayed with substances by some to improve staying fresh looking longer.

Most still retain the natural vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, and fiber.
Buying natural state foods will require longer preparation times for you.

They are low margin for the grocer and are around the outside and far end of the store so you have to go past and are tempted to buy the high margin processed stuff on the way getting to them.

We suggest when you can, buy these at farmers markets, and at fresh fruit and vegetable stands where they are picked closer to ripe time, contain more of the "picked ripe" enzymes and chances are have not been sprayed with anything.
We are talking fruits, and vegetables as well as nuts and mushrooms etc.
What You Are Eating

Basically, water, carbohydrates, fat, protein. and man made chemicals.

Four of these are the foundation of a healthy diet.
Carbohydrates (carbs) found naturally mostly in fruits, vegetables, corn and beans. They are slowly converted into glucose providing energy for the body or stored for future use in the liver, or in muscles stored as body fat. The liver holds about one days supply.
For hundreds of thousands of years man got about 25% of his energy needs from these types of carbs.

The body sorts this out of this food which makes up also your daily requirement of fiber, which is the way your body is set up to operate and if you skip the fiber, that comes with natural food you generate problems. Also without the fiber, processed food digests with high sugar peaks which is why you have diabetes.

Fats are the most concentrated source of body energy and down thru history man got about 75% of his energy from fats.

Mass media have declared fat an enemy and made into the villain.

Unfortunately, consumers are buying into this low fat craze and it is causing the very health problems they are telling you this is supposed to fix. We go into this elsewhere.

Excessive amounts of fat are billed as causing the many health problems. It is in reality, the substituting refined sugar and carbs for the energy you should and normally would get from high fat, that substitution, if you research it you will realize is the real problem.

Proteins build up body tissues, muscles, skin, and organs. to get protein you buy meat, fish, eggs, beans, nuts, and seeds.

The problem here is almost undetectable. Meats from animals grown naturally on grass etc food obtained on the range contained in their bodies (meat) a mixture of elements necessary for mans health.

In the US, primarily, in the last 30 years, government subsidized cheap grain has made it so that most meat is now grown force feeding this cheap genetically altered grain to animals not designed to be fed grain, in factories with animals confined indoors with almost no room for movement, no light, and no selection of food other then this surplus grain, chemicals and hormones to force growth in half the time nature took, to full size

This force fed genetically altered grain, hormones and chemicals produces animals that result in meat, milk and eggs that DOES NOT contain what range raised meat milk and eggs contained and does contain some things it should not.

Example: Meat, milk, butter, eggs grass grown contain a substance called CLA. This substance is now taken as supplements by those in strength training gyms to grow muscle and do away with fat.

Those Genetically altered Grain fed meat, milk, butter and eggs contain almost none of this substance which counters weight gain in man. (part of obesity problem)
This is just one substance we know about. There are undoubtedly many others.

Range raised chickens for example are free to pick up any elements their body is short of. Wire raised, confined in stacks eight high crowded together with almost no movement in semi darkness, factory raised chickens are able to eat only the chemicals, hormones and grain supplied.

Therefore any deficiency winds up as a deficiency in the meat and eggs you eat.

The big health detail few mention is that grain fed meat is very low in Omega 3 fats and very high in Omega 6. Normal grass fed meat is about equal amounts of each. It is this great discrepancy that is causing most health gurus trying to get you to eat wild salmon to help get Omega 3 fats back in proportion to meet health needs.

Man can not handle the huge discrepancy in Omega 6 to Omega 3 and is a huge contributor to the health problems in the US.

Found in high levels in range grass raised and much lower levels in grain fed animals CLA has health benefits, which Health Benefits Include:
